Athletic Placement Process
The Athletic Placement Process is designed for exceptional 7th and 8th-grade students who are both mentally and physically capable of participating at the High School Level.
To be granted a try-out at the High School Level, the following must occur:
- All 7th and 8th graders who are interested must complete the APP packet in it's entirety before handing it into the nurse's office, as well as be registered for the sport of choice on rSchool, our registration platform.
- The District's Medical Director will review all information, and a determination will be made based on the student's physical maturity.
- If the District's Medical Director does not grant permission, then the process is over.
- If the District's Medical Director does grant permission for the fitness test, the student must pass 4 of the 5 components of the fitness test to try-out for a team.
- If the student does not pass 4 of the 5 components of the fitness test, then the process is over.
- If the student passes at least 4 of the components of the test, that child will then be allowed to try-out for the HS sport.
- Coaches will determine who makes the team, and if playing at the HS level is warranted and beneficial for the student and the team. The child will be able to participate at the modified level if they do not make the team.
Dates for submission of the APP packet and the fitness test will be determined for each sport season.
